in the world built around consumerism being able to create is the biggest privilege.
[OFF]it is actually a test ramble, do not take it seriously. doesn't really make sense and is mostly a retelling of the text i've read for class (with a bit of reflection ofc)
ok its SO cringe im going to DIE[/OFF]
in class we were discussing tourism and the way the world has changed since tourism was invented. of course i didn't have a word because there wasn't much time left and i am in fact scared of being vocal about my opinions, so i'll take the chance here since because i can and also who tf would read this shit liek be so fr omg

at first tourism was, of course, for the rich and privileged (and i could say it's true to this day but heavily depending on the destination), and opened to, well, everyone else to make more money.
while studying tourism for 2 years, i often felt like the industry exploits everything around it - the nature and the people. i feel as if it was clearly stated by everyone around me back then.
so the tourist sites are noting but consumer goods now. they are heavily promoted through pretty and polished pictures.
countless of tourists over the years had ruined the world's treasured sites - and of course its mostly the fault of ignorance and the human urge to vandalize and to leave something behind (or to take something along). it's about "i paid so i do what i want" attitude and the lack of respect. but not all people are like this, and some really do treasure the experience by being respectful.
we really can't think of the world in black and white, so of course it is not all about cons. i am extremely grateful for the possibility to go round the globe (hypothetically) and of course tourism had opened thousands if not millions of job positions and the numbers are constantly growing - from a waiter in a shitty cafe in the middle of nowhere to a pilot. heck, i was almost one of them!
the text ended with a very unpopular take that tourism actually narrows the mind. but i feel like it's not the tourism industry, it's the globalization and the way we were taught to live.

while going home i actually was thinking a lot about everything. the innumerous industries want us to consume - and we consume, as if there's nothing more to life (literally). we were told that humans are the only species with the ability to create but we create because we cannot live without consuming. but ok, vital stuff aside, being forced to work to afford to consume (to live!!) has killed the ability to create for many people. as for now almost everything we do is consuming: we watch, we read, we eat, we use. the world resolves around consuming. as a fellow internet user i have an unexplainable high screentime that definitely is affecting my mental state.

creators actually rule the world, no matter how big or small, they provoke, they evoke, they make!

the post is definitely sponsored by my jealousy to creative people. i want to be you so bad. i wish i could call myself a creator one day.

actually i kind of forgot what the post was originally about, bc i had so much thoughts and i got lost in them!! + i got distracted a lot
i feel as though i should've written them down first lolll but it was really fun to write i really should do this more
